Anyone heard of a 60's group called Carter-Lewis & The Southerners, some singles recorded on Oriole label? Ken Lewis and John Carter went on to become songwriters and also performed as The Ivy League. Am looking for single "Sweet and Tender Romance" circa 1963? but anything will do. Also, only heard recently that Rod Allen lead singer with the Fortunes had died (Jan 2008). Very sorry to hear this sad news, lovely guy.

Actually, I'm looking for a site (if one exists) that shows the time of the song on the original version 45 label. This is a tremendous help in determining if a song on a cd or reissue 45 is the original version. Bought too may re-records, resungs and live versions in the past. Thanks,

Thanks for all the help from various people, I am still looking for a Naturals song, it was a single called "Look At Me Now" and it was a follow up to their hit record, "I Should Have Known Better". Does any one out there know what happened to Clive Lea - The Rockin Berries Singer. I knew him when He was with 'The Phantoms' before they were famous . A crowd of us used to hang out together when the group lived in longbridge.

I've been a fan since 1967, his hits get better and better. Seen him in concert several times, the Millenium concerts were brilliant, so was Heathcliff. Keep on Rocking, Cliff!

Having just watched Jess Conrad in 'Move to the Country', I really cannot believe that somebody is so full himself. All he could talk about was 'Jess Conrad', and what he wants and what he needs, his poor wife must have the patients of a saint. No, Mr Conrad the world does not revolve around YOU...............

Just that I heard a song by Malcolm Roberts the other day and thought, "What a voice" I don't think he had any major hits in the UK,but was a success in Argentina. He sang, "Love is All". Just Great.

Any info on the UK Salvo label which had a short life in the early sixties.Did they have a spot on Radio Luxembourg?Who owned them etc? They had some really obscure releases.I bought at the time, and still have, a 45 single by Johnny Dot and The Dashes called ''I love an angel'' a sort of ''sub Elvis'' teeny doo woppy ballad. It was from the Vaca label in the US. Nice site

I would like to thank all Billy Fury fans for putting him back in the charts 25 years after his death. Quite a feat! There will be a Thanksgiving Service for Billy at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on Sunday 13 April at 3pm to mark the 25th anniversary of his passing. Anyone who is a fan of Billy's is welcome to join us. Billy's mother and brother will be guests of honour. If there are any 50s/60s artistes reading this who knew Billy or worked with him please get in touch as I would like to send you a personal invitation.

I have just watched Jess Conrad and his wife on the television programme Escape to the Country. I was never a fan of Jess Conrad and now I know the reason why. Listening and watching the programme made me want to be sick. All you ever heard was Jess Conrad talking about Jess Conrad. What a self centered person he is,even my husband could not believe what he heard. I though his name should be Me Me Me because thats about all we heard. Mrs Conrad, you deserve a medal for putting up with this nauseating man. Get a life Jess, you are a has been, get over it.

Re: Decca F12209 1965 Headliners - That's The Way I Must Go/ Four Seasons This takes me back a bit. One of the group members (can`t remember which one) was a distant relative of mine and I well remember (when younger) being dragged along to see them perform near Bracknell in Berkshire, when my parents visited my aunt and uncle who lived there. I thought at the time that they were definitely trying to "do a Springfields" with the line up of two guys with guitars and a girl singing poppy country stuff. What amazed me even more was that they won "Opportunity Knocks" several weeks in a row with that line-up and similar format. Quite pleasant, but didn`t really hit me between the eyes and I could never really understand why they came up to win so many times, bearing in mind the resemblance to the Springfields. My mum bought the record (naturally!) but I notice it it`s not in the Guinness book of hit singles, so obviously didn`t do a lot! I didn`t know that they had a second single - even more unknown than the first!
