"Listen People" was a UK flip side for Herman's Hermits and I think a Top Ten Hit A-side in USA. Radio Caroline (North) used to play it a lot but by a female vocalist, probably 1965/6? When I "google" it, I just get links to Herman or Graham Gouldman who wrote it. Can anyone remember who the female singer was? It doesn't seem to have even been a minor hit anywhere.

Reg, Excellent site. I'd nominate the late Roy Castle for inclusion. Although widely known as an 'all round entertainer', he was actually a very fine jazz-inspired singer. Sadly, he got few opportunities to display this side of his craft on records. Nearly all his records sold poorly, causing them to be largely ignored or forgotten about. However, between 1958-1970 he made a dozen singles and three LPs - many of them far superior to those of his contemporaries who claimed singing as their sole occupation. Apart from his lame 1960 Xmas novelty "Little White Berry", his singles for Philips (1960-62) are particularly good - all recorded with the fine Wally Stott.

HI THERE, IN THE 50s AND 60s I WORKED FOR DAVID SUTCH ( SCREAMING LORD SUTCH AND THE SAVAGES ) ALSO ON RADIO SUTCH ON THE GUNTOWERS, SHIVERING SANDS, THAMES ESTURY. YOU COULD SAY I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PIRATE DISC JOCKEY'S. ( THAT WOULD BE TRUE ) ITS GREAT TO READ ABOUT THE 50s 60s 70s, TERRY DENE, MARTY WILDE, ADAM FAITH, NEIL CHRISTIAN, WEE WILLIE HARRIS, TOMMY STEEL, JOHNNY KIDD, ALL THE GUYS FROM THAT TIME. THE TWO Is COFFEE BAR WAS A GAS AT THAT TIME, ALSO WE HAD A LOT OF MEETS AT THE ACE CAFE ON THE NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD. THOSE TIMES WERE GREAT IN THE 50s AND 60s THERE WAS NOT THE VIOLENCE ABOUT AS THERE IS TODAY.. YOUNG PEOPLE ONLY WANTED TO ENJOY THE MUSIC. ( ROCK n ROLL ) YES THEY WERE GREAT TIMES. GETTING BACK TO RADIO SUTCH, THE RADIO STATION WAS STARTED IN MAY 1964, RENAMED RADIO CITY ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER AND CLOSED DOWN BY THE THEN LABOUR GOVERNMENT LED BY HAROLD WILSON AND TONY BENN IN 1967. ( WILSON AND BENN WERE THE TWO MPs WHO DID MOST TO STOP PIRATE RADIO ) BUT 45 YEARS LATER I HAVE RESTARTED RADIO SUTCH ON THE WEB.. IF YOU GO TO www.live365.com/stations/colinradiosutch YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR RADIO SUTCH ONCE MORE.. THERE IS MORE INFORMATION ON MY WEB-SITE, THATS www.colindaleradiosutch.com THANK YOU FOR READING SOME OF MY STORY, REGARDS COLIN DALE RADIO SUTCH

Hedgehoppers did not disband in late 1966. They went through further changes, including having Crazy World of Arthur Brown keyboard player Vincent Crane a brief member at the end of 1966/early 1967. Like Renaissance, an entirely new line up was formed and eventually moved out to South Africa and recorded a great LP called Hey in 1971. Most of those musicians appear to have come from Staffordshire. Alan Avon, one of the singers, is still in Stoke. I also believe that Tony Kaye, who may be the same guy who was in the original Yes, was a member.

Brilliant site - thanks for all the info but! Can you help solve a mystery? Girls - Billy Dolton - Do you have anything on this fellow - I believe he may be Glen Campbell but no sign of him in the voice. Song was from 1959 on Parlophone I believe. One other little fact - youprobably know this already - Mission Bell - Donnie Brookes was written by Gene Pitney

I have a video I recorded of some "Ready, Steady, Go" shows and in one episode an artist performs a song called "I'm Gonna Stand on My Own Two Feet". agreat Northen Soul number. They never mention his name and I'm trying to find out the artist who the artist is. He was a black, Btitish male and his first name may have been Kenny. I've Googled this song title and came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I am certainly a fan of 60s music. There is so much music from that decade that appeals to me so I can't really decide which is my favourite. I've noticed that there a quite a column of #1s with reference to the Beatles! Anyway, I am featured on the BBC website and anxious to bring my weblinks to everyone's attention. Simply visit Google and search the web for Jeremy Keller, or Jeremy Keller BBC, to access the details.

I am trying to find the contact address for the wife of late, great Johnny Duncan of the Blue Grass Boys fame. He was my great friend and 'mentor' and we did several TV shows together. I am so asddened to hear of his passiong. Can anybody let me know the whereabouts of his wife- who bore him four children - her name was Anita Brennan (could have been her stage name as we did many gigs together in the sixties).
