Dave, I couldn't find another way of sending you an e-mail thanking you for a really great evening for myself and friends at Hutton, Weston-super-Mare in the marquee. I am the Membership Co-ordinator of a Singles Club called S.P.A. (Single Professional Association) and I wanted to see you after a few years, well a lot really (I was born 1948) so 60's was my era. I can't really explain how wonderful it was to see you from my younger days but also to say a big thanks for allowing Pat Hodge to take a photograph of myself and yourself. Pat has just given them to me, they have come out great, but why does everyone chop the feet off? Anyway, once again a great many thanks for a brilliant evening enjoyed by all who attended. I hope to see you again next year if you come to Weston again (perhaps even in the Marquee again). I truly hope you have a lot of great times travelling and meeting people, which is something that I especially like to do. Kind regards Ellen Nation

Raised on music from the 40,s 50,and 60,s...Lucky I suppose as music died in the 70's. Strange how even the sounds of the scratches on records are pure music to the ears....

i was born in 1946 and ive had that privelege to have been born just at the right time to benefit all the great decades of the music world although i can't appreciate the music of the millenium years its got no soul, you might as well say the same about the fashion, people don't seem to take pride in their appearances anymore. bring back the fabulous sixties,i wish.

I have met Ossie Osmond on several occasions during the last 3 years. He looks fantastic for 73 (June 2007) and is as fit as a fiddle!! He is such an inspiration to me as a fellow Herbalife Distributor - YES that's what Ossie does these days and one of the most successful "Presidents Team" members in the World. He still bangs out the occasional song and plays a mean guitar! Congratulations to the Band (minus Ossie) for still being in the music game 47 years on!! Good luck!

When I think of Karl I say (Woman) the lady and Karl will know why. I have hot footed it to Steptoes, spoke to Karl's buddies and learnt so much about hime. He has an amazing voice that will live on forever To the special lady with the red hair, keep smiling as we know our loved ones walk side by side with us as we travel on the journey of life. Anyone visiting Steptoes will be in for some great entertainment, however, the Steptoes 1 today is not the Steptoes that Karl performed at. If you ask at Steptoes 1 they will point you in the right direction. To all the visitors to this this special site may I wish you, peace,love,light & happiness always

I was looking at "The Stargazers" sight. The 50's group. I followed from there. I remember my parents buying a 78 of"I See the Moon" by the Stargazers, and for no reason it came into my head this morning. Perhaps I am cracking up!

I was secretary to David Whitfield fan club during the 1950's. I enjoyed running the fan club and I made many friends. We met with David on many occasions during that time, and saw many of his shows, especially when he appeared for the summer seasons at Blackpool. We also travelled to various parts of the country to see him. It was a great time and era. Janeana I lived in Blackpool, but now I am in Australia.

I have received lots of help thru' this site in my search for hard to find Sixties records, thank you to everyone who has been in contact. One thing I dont understand is why is it so hard to get hold of a Dave Clark 5 CD? I have tried various web sites across Europe and USA, some have them in their catalogue but when you actually go to purchase, the message comes back "Deleted". Am I missing something here? Are they holding back until we are all in our 70s? The care home probably wont let me play "Bits and Pieces" by then.

Greetings Gang!! - I was wandering through the shelves of my local Woolies store last Monday when I came across a 3-CD package for just Ł8. Called 'Pure 60s', I decided {too soon} that this batch of 60s tracks couldn't be any good at such a cheap-o, cheap-o price. How wrong I was! So if any of you visit your local Woolworth's store and you see a 3-CD package there, called 'Pure 60s', snap it up, quick! "Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny, Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini" {'60} Brian Hyland; "Johnny Will {'61} Pat Boone; "Robot Man" {'60} Connie Francis; "Road Runner" {'66} Junior Walker & the All Stars; "Sweet Nuthins" {'60} Brenda Lee; "Oh, Lonesome Me!" {'62} Craig Douglas; "Runaround Sue" {'61} Doug Sheldon; "Eloise" {'68} Barry Ryan; "Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James" {'66} Manfred Mann; "1-2-3" {'65} Len Barry; "Lightnin' Strikes" {'66} Lou Christie; "Besame Mucho2 {'62} Jet Harris; "Pipeline" ['63} Chantays; but it was seeing the name Louise Cordet that made me make a grab for it {"I'm Just A Baby" from '62}, which makes it four copies I now have of this gloriously sexy wee hit, including the original vinyl copy {Decca, F 11496}. Oh, I was well pleased with this batch of oldies. Some not featured on many CD compilations, such as Craig Douglas' Decca product, for example. The only naff track for me is "Paper Sun" by Traffic. The original single clocks in at 4.12 but on 'Pure 60s' it's been chopped to just over 3.20, which I think is a cheek! 'Pure 60s' ... Don't walk passed it, pop-pickers. Snap it up and add them. Alright? Russtti Gaynor {London, England}

Greetings Gang!! This isn't actually a 'want' as such. Two weeks ago I was listening to my 'Pop Bible' on Radio 2 when I heard of the very sad news surrounding Clinton Ford, who Brian Matthew informs us is "bedridden", with his family all assisting in the best way they can. I loved listening to Clinton's saucy wit on many of his records during the 60s, such as "Dandy" {written by Ray Davies and originally recorded by his band, the Kinks}, and "Fanlight Fanny". Why, in 1963, Clinton even had the sauce to go into the studio and record "Fanlight Fanny's daughter", again for Oriole. He was a quick-witted character; gave me a lot of pleasure through his cheeky-chappie records and I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing Clinton all the very best for the future and sincerely hope he pulls through and gets well very soon. Thoughts also to his wife and children, who I'm sure are doing a sterling job in trying to get Clinton well once again. Let's hope and pray for his speedy recovery. Best wishes, Russtti Gaynor {190307}

I have just read Bermondsey Boy - very interesting and entertaining. I lived further up towards Blythe Hill than you and recall the excitement when rumour had it that you were moving to Catford. I remember walking past the house when you had a housewarming party and seeing a large selection of limos parked in the surrounding roads. Your description of your father made me remember seeing him leaning on the front gate and chatting to passers by. I hope you don't mind me asking but I believe we were married on the same day as you were, 18.6.60, in Catford. Our first child was born in 1967. It would be interesting if you would confirm the wedding date. Thank you.
