Hi..I owned a promotional copy of this in the mid 50's to about 1963. I remember it being a song by the Jaguars or some variation of the spelling of the name..and the same goes for the song title. It was spelled like some of these: "She's allright with me" and or "She's all right with me" etc. Some of the lyrics went like this: "She acts like a queen and she's all mine, I love this girl and I always will...da da da da da..she's gives me a thrill. "She has the strokes and I love her the most" "Cause she's so sweet. The last part of the lyrics go: She's allright with me, yea yea ( or yeah yeah) she's allright with me "honk honk" IF it's cheaper, I don't have to have the actual 45, but I would like to be sent a sample of the song (an MP3) to make sure it's the right song..and it could be burnt to a CD for me..or whatever way it can be done. I'll put my e-mail address here..as well as below: YOURIMAGEUNREELS@SBCGLOBAL.NET Thanks so much for your time. Jeff Crabb

Desperately trying to find a Mp3, copy, vinyl or download, of the single that reached No. 37 in the charts, in 1967 or late 1966, by a psychodelic group called "Warm Sounds", with the track title of "Birds and Bees". Anyone help me? Internet searches have drawn a blank. Thanks.

I'm looking for a single that I think had the B-side "Didn't It Rain" and the A side I believe made the charts. The band was a kind of trad jazz band like Kenny Ball but virtually unknown with a lead singer and I can't remember the title of the A-side. It was featured on TV a lot and was possibly the early 1960s I can't find anyone who remembers it. The male lead singer had a gravelly voice and it wasn't Terry Lightfoot or Humphrey Littleton or Ken Colyer or Kenny Ball - it was a totally obscure band. But they made the lower end of the charts.

It was at Butlins in Pwllheli that we met (was it The Vienese Bar??)and he was the catalyst between me and a young lady and "Baby let me be your teddy bear" sure helped. The reason for this message is that Brain Matthew mentioned Clinton on his show this morning and that he was not feeling too well. I hope this message will cheer him up and get him back on his feet. You cant keep us old ones down. Me I'm 74. I was 23/24 back then and was in the Air Force and had just returned from Australia and getting back into the swing of things with my old mates. They were a great couple of weeks. Thanks Clint for making them so enjoyable. (Taff)

I have,in my possesion,a 7" acetate single recording from an un-named group. The label states that it was made by Regent Sound of 4 Denmark Street,London. The titles are 'A Girl Like You'/'Think'(not the songs by the same titles,as sung by The Troggs and Chris Farlowe respectfuly). Both songs sound very much from the 60's beat group era,and have a distinct commercial feel.I would love to know more about this disc;i.e.who recorded it,etc.

I love the music of the 60`s, for its clarity, listening to and for dancing. this website is great to read about other baby boomers. In South Australia we have tribute bands for icons like the Beatles, the Shadows,Roy Orbison. We have just had Eric Clapton here and recently Robbie Williams- one of my favourite songs Mr Bojangles Robbie sings We also love our jazz with local groups like EtypeJazz and Janet Seidal who do songs like Fever,Perhaps,Georgia,It Had To Be You,Crazy,Summertime, etc with fabulous improvisations. We have just had Middleton Jazz FESTIVAL here on the south coast- very popular. We have just seen the blessing of the grape harvest in the Barossa Valley and our wine festivals in the Valley,Mclaren Vale,Langhorne Creek, go really well with JAZZ and fine food. I say ROLL ON WITH THE GOOD TIMES baby boomers with music of the 60`s

I would like to know if there is anyone who remembers Chris Farlow. He came to Rhodes Memoria Hall in Bishop Storford back in the mid sixties. Also I wonder what happened to the Ivy League and their backing group the Crawdaddies ? I just love looking up all the golden oldies, it is wonderful to remember back to being sweet sixteen, it is hard to think that I once was..... but I wouldn't have missed the sixties for anything.

In about 1958, a song called "It's a boy" was released. I believe it was a B side. However, when I looked at the presumed artist Alma Cogan, it wasn't mentioned. Have I got the wrong artist? In which case, who did the song and what is the label/No? I have a very vague idea that the record was on a green columbia label, but since I was about 3 at the time I last saw this record, I could well be wrong. Can anybody help me? Best wishes from a COLD Norway, Phil

You can spend hours just browsing through this site, it brings back so many memories. I'm still looking for a couple of rare singles, I think both were recorded or at least written by Paul Korda and Tim Andrews, the titles are: Sad Simon Lives Again and (Everyone Knows) You Can Smile If You Want To. Any help would be appreciated, I haven't found them as yet on any obscure compilations. Also, I'm looking for an original version of Boys Cry by Eden Kane, all the ones I have found so far are poor quality re-recordings with awful musical arrangements. Thanks for keeping this site going Reg.

I have done some research myself on these 450 records that I have in the collection and I wondered if I sent you a list you would like to make me an offer for them. I have entered my work email address if you can contact me to let me know either way. My wife used to like Jess Conrad and loved your accurate biog! I am still a huge fan of The Searchers and about 14 months ago I went to see three successive shows in Denmark. The whole trip was magical.

what we all would give anything for , is for the best band we have ever heard to reform and honour us with one last tour. the word is that david lives in melbourne now,and still enjoys the occasional jam with some of my old mates, although i must admit that i might be a bit behind the times on that one;i played drums in melb.for 25y. ,but then moved to n.s.w.where i still play and teach. my point here is that i am now in my 42nd year of teaching, and in all that time not one of my students has missed out on hearing,[ and buying ] your albums."essential listening",is what they are told, and many have contacted me from all over the world, sometimes years after the event,to express their appreciation for turning them on to your wonderful and immortal music.rest easy b.j.,you will live forever in the hearts and minds of our grandchildren,as will you all;some of us are making sure that happens!i would not presume to comment on your "darker day of black",except to expresss my hope that the matter will eventually be resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned.it comforts me a little when i think about bands like yes, cream, and armardis,[ world-class australian classical rock band, long defunct],all of whom had a serious falling-out,but who are now friends again.keith moon was right for once, this bloody business makes beggars and thieves of us all! so in the very, very unlikely event of a reformation, should you require the services of a still-fit drummer who knows your music better than his own national anthem, ring me on 0432952861,but you will kindly forgive me garry,if i dont hold my breath on that one!i would estimate the chances as less than one in a thousand, and the planet is the poorer for it.lots more to say to you garry, but must work now ; tomorrows drum clinic is nearly 200 miles away and this is my first day on our new computer.my beautiful wife,[ a big fan of p.h.],is far more intelligent than i am,so the rest of the day represents a big learning curve for me.many thanks for taking the time to read this, continued good health to all of the band ,we are so grateful for the way you have spent your life...so far!thats the aussie sense of humour mate, good luck and a happy new year!

I think the sixties still stands out as the era of the greatest innovation in music and it is good to see some of the bands are still touring. I quite often go the solid gold and silver rock and roll shows when they come to eastbourne, The manfreds quite usually come here - well worth seeing.

Does anybody know (remember) a record called "Thanks" by J Vincent Edwards. It wasn't a UK hit but it was a No1 in Holland and Belgium (I think). Any idea if it's available to buy/download??

It's a rich site with many english references. A best for all collector of this period, unknown in France in the 60's despite of the rare french versions (we can say that the entiere french production was for Cliff RICHARD! In fact, I like very much Cliff but he was not the only man to sing rock 'n' roll in England). Please can you answer to me to the following question : In 1963 Jet HARRIS was included in a french EP (Decca 454.094)with these 2 titles 'Again' & 'Blue Mood'(the others were with Tony MEEHAN and are best known). Do you know on what label and on what number they were issued in the UK ? Or is this an error ? Many thanks in advance. All the best from a french collector. André FELDER

Hi Craig, you will remember me from record company days. Shove in Bernard Cochrane into Google or any other GOOD search ening and you will find me [like you] in the number 1 spot PLUS etc. Not selling myself other than to say that we are under way with 'a special recording' of one of my earlier hit songs, and somehow I just have this feeling you should be doing the lead vocals on our record we are looking to issue on Ascendancy Records next year? If you get this [Craig in person please] please email me. Regardless of your interest it would be nice to hear from you........Regards Brnie Cochrane

Comments and/or Wants

I used to be a member of Lonnie Donegans fan club and met him at the Coventry gasworks canteen in 1958(I think). He might have been appearing at the Hippodrome. I loved his music, along with Chas McDevitt and Johnny Duncan. I was so disappointed when a tour to Western Australia by Lonnie a few years ago was cancelled due to his heart problems. I also liked many British crooners of the fifties/sixties. I'm hoping to obtain CD's of the above performers for old times sake and will keep looking on the different sites. I believe any site such as this one can bring about a revival of the many truely great songs of OUR era and thank Reg for his efforts in hopefully achieving this aim.

Why do you stop your 45s listings in the '60s? Many companies continued issuing them long after that; I have some good Jazz from Czechoslovakia on Supraphon 45s, and there's all the "Rosie Records" (St Johns Wood, London)issues in the late '80s - including their R.R.015 "Donegan's Dancing Sunshine Band" which I bought in the Barbican record shop in January 1988. Not a complaint, but the '45'World is a bigger place than your site suggests! But keep up the good work...

My local dealer is selling a triple cd the beatles songbook which features among others Alma Cogan; she was huge in West G. with the Tennessee Waltz - Friends of Dean Martin's version is great - and as I'm a fan and collector of female voices - among others - and the collection has also Lulu and Cilla Black and I feel fine is after all these years still among my favorite tunes and there is Alma singing it with Big Band in a latin rhumba kinda stile, and I can't find it in your list, I thought I just tell you cos you might wanna know. Good sound quality, 49 songs, only the sleeve is poor, it don't say anything about recording dates and locations and studios. Now you'll find out. Have fun, cheerio from Berlin
